SIFAX Marine Services Limited has unveiled an ambitious asset-led expansion strategy for 2026 aimed at transforming its business model and strengthening its participation in Nigeria’s offshore and oil and gas marine services markets.

In a statement outlining the company’s growth plan, Afolabi Olayinka, Executive Director of SIFAX Marine, said the company is shifting away from revenue increases driven mainly by tariff and rate adjustments toward a more sustainable and scalable model anchored on direct investment in owned marine assets.

According to Olayinka, the strategy focuses on the acquisition of additional sea-going barges, creek vessels, and offshore support vessels, which will significantly expand operational capacity, deepen market reach, and unlock higher-value contracts within the oil and gas sector.

“Sustainable and exponential growth will only come from deliberate investment in marine assets that we own and control,” Olayinka explained, noting that while rate adjustments supported revenue performance in the previous year, the future of SIFAX Marine lies in building a strong owned fleet that delivers resilience, capacity, and competitive advantage.

A central pillar of the 2026 strategy is stronger participation in oil and gas projects, which will require regulatory-compliant vessel types and elevated prequalification status on major industry tender platforms. This approach, the company believes, will position it for technically demanding and higher-margin offshore contracts traditionally secured by operators with robust asset ownership and compliance credentials.

In addition to fleet expansion, SIFAX Marine is exploring strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and vessel management services to accelerate market entry and scale operations more rapidly, further strengthening its value proposition as a full-spectrum marine services provider in Nigeria’s evolving maritime and energy landscape.
