The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Port Command has announced that it collected ₦2,930,508,827,110.32 in revenue during 2025, marking a 24.32 % increase compared with the ₦2.36 trillion generated in 2024. This performance reaffirms Apapa’s status as Nigeria’s premier revenue hub within the customs service.

Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, the Customs Area Controller, credited the strong results to effective leadership, disciplined personnel, and the strategic use of modern technology under the guidance of the Comptroller‑General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi. He also praised compliant stakeholders whose lawful trade practices boosted collections.

A key contributor to the Command’s success was the deployment of the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) — also known as B’Odogwu — which enhanced transparency, efficiency, and accountability in cargo clearance processes. The command also intensified performance reviews and revenue recovery measures to strengthen collections throughout the year.

In terms of trade facilitation, Apapa Customs expanded stakeholder engagements following the rollout of the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programme and strengthened the One‑Stop Shop (OSS) initiative to speed up the processing and release of compliant cargo. Efforts were reported to further expand the use of FS6000 non‑intrusive scanning technology, capable of scanning up to 200 containers per hour, to boost operational efficiency.

The Command’s performance highlights the impact of modernization and stakeholder collaboration on revenue growth and trade facilitation, positioning Apapa Port as a critical engine for national revenue mobilization.
